Job summary

Placements24 seeks a Senior Actuarial Analyst for a fully remote life insurance role. You will lead pricing, reserves, financial projections, and risk assessments from a home office, collaborating with product, finance, and risk teams to safeguard solvency and profitability.

The ideal candidate has actuarial progress, five years' experience, and proficiency in Prophet and Moses, with advanced Excel and programming in VBA/Python/R to drive insights.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Actuarial Science, Mathematics, Statistics, or a related quantitative field.
• Progress towards or completion of actuarial examinations (e.g., Actuarial Society of South Africa).
• Experience in life insurance actuarial work and five years preferred.

Responsibilities

• Develop and maintain pricing models for life insurance products.
• Perform financial projections, solvency testing, and statutory/management reporting.
• Calculate and analyze policy reserves and liabilities.
• Conduct experience studies on mortality, morbidity, and lapse rates.
• Support product development with actuarial input and analysis.
• Assist in risk management framework development and implementation.
• Communicate complex actuarial concepts to non-actuarial stakeholders.
• Stay updated on industry trends and regulatory changes relevant to SA markets.
