Job summary

Avalara is seeking a Senior Consultant, License Managed Services, to lead delivery for enterprise accounts and mentor analysts. You will translate deep tax and licensing expertise into scalable frameworks, elevate team standards, and ensure high accuracy before client delivery.

You will drive enterprise-grade compliance initiatives, codify processes, and advance AI-enabled workflows to improve research speed and risk mitigation across the team.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Tax, Finance, Business, or a related field.
• 7+ years of experience in business licensing, tax registration, or multi-jurisdictional compliance.
• Multi-jurisdictional knowledge of US state tax registrations across a broad range of states.
• Experience coaching technical team members and translating complex domain expertise into learning.
• Demonstrated high ownership and delivery for large-scale, high-complexity client engagements.
• Demonstrate Avalara's OPAH FOCUS traits, as a cultural anchor and technical role model.

Responsibilities

• Lead the technical execution for Avalara's most intricate enterprise customers with accountability for outcomes.
• Be the designated technical authority for Analysts on difficult jurisdictional unblocking, filing strategies, and escalations.
• Raise technical standards by sharing tax and licensing knowledge through reviews and guides.
• Serve as final technical reviewer for complex deliverables before client delivery.
• Identify complex manual workflows and develop frameworks enabling less-experienced teammates to perform advanced tasks.
