Job summary

Chainguard is seeking a Senior Software Engineer to join the Libraries Platform. You will help design and implement the services, pipelines, and package index that power secure, reproducible builds for Java, JavaScript, Python, and beyond.

You’ll lead architecture, automate artifact creation and verification, improve reliability and observability, mentor peers, and collaborate with ecosystem teams to keep our open‑source ecosystem safe and up to date.

Qualifications

• 5+ years designing, building, and operating infrastructure for language ecosystems or developer platforms.
• Strong proficiency in Go (Golang) and developing developer tooling.
• Experience with CI/CD, IaC, and cloud-native tooling.

Responsibilities

• Lead design and implementation of core Libraries Platform components.
• Automate artifact creation, updates, and verification, including vulnerability scanning and SBOMs.
• Build toward novel patch generation and AI-assisted patching workflows.
• Develop and operate shared platform services such as package indexes and registries.
• Create internal developer tools and CLIs to improve build, test, and ship processes at scale.
• Drive reliability, observability, and incident response for the Libraries platform.
• Collaborate with ecosystem teams to meet reliability, security, and product requirements.
• Mentor engineers through design reviews and documentation.
