Job summary

Chainguard, the trusted source for open source, is hiring a Senior Software Engineer for the Libraries Platform. You will design and implement the platform powering secure, reproducible library builds across Java, JavaScript, Python/AI, and more, while building shared services and automation at scale.

You’ll work on artifact creation, patch generation, vulnerability workflows, and AI-assisted modernization, collaborating across ecosystem teams to ensure reliability and security.

Qualifications

• 3–5 years designing, building, and operating infra for language ecosystems or developer platforms.
• Strong proficiency in Go (Golang) and building developer tooling and automation.
• Experience with CI/CD, cloud-native infra, and IaC: containers, Kubernetes, and public clouds (GCP/AWS/Azure).
• Ability to debug complex toolchains, packaging, and infra failures and drive root-cause fixes.
• Excellent communication in a remote, distributed environment with emphasis on documentation and collaboration.

Responsibilities

• Lead design and implementation of core Libraries Platform components: services, pipelines, and package index for secure, reproducible builds.
• Build automation for artifact creation, updates, verification, vulnerability scanning, SBOMs, and provenance generation.
• Develop and validate AI-assisted patching and security fixes.
• Create and operate shared platform services (package indexes, mirrors, metadata, orchestration).
• Develop internal developer tools and CLIs (Go) and integrate with CI/CD for multiple ecosystems.
• Improve reliability, observability, SLOs, monitoring, and incident response for the Libraries platform.
