Job summary

The Broward County Board of County Commissioners seeks a Senior Librarian to plan, supervise, and coordinate activities across Broward's Libraries Division. The role includes staff supervision, training, and ensuring excellent customer service while aligning with county policies.

Qualifications

• Requires a Master's degree accredited by the American Library Association or an equivalent international degree related to library services.
• Requires one (1) year of library experience providing services to all ages.

Responsibilities

• Supervises, trains, counsels, and evaluates assigned staff, participates in interview panels, ensures mandatory trainings are completed.
• Maintains building and public service schedules; coordinates work schedules, attendance, and reviews payroll for the unit; provides guidance and assists with duties and tasks.
• Contributes to collection development and conducts reference services for youth and adults; develops and delivers programs for all ages; plans special exhibits.
• Participates in workshops, professional meetings, and reading current literature; coordinates outreach to diverse community populations.
• Performs related work such as planning and overseeing volunteer activities and serving as Supervisor in Charge as assigned.

Education

Master's degree in Library Science (ALA-accredited) or equivalent
