Job summary

Colleton County Government is seeking a Reference Librarian/Adult Services Programmer for Colleton County Memorial Library. The successful candidate will plan and conduct reference services, assist patrons with reference needs, and train staff and patrons in the use of reference and electronic resources.

A Bachelor’s degree in liberal arts with 1–3 years of public library experience is required; Master’s in Librarianship is preferred with 1–3 years of public library experience, or an equivalent

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree with concentration in liberal arts and 1–3 years of public library experience.
• Master’s degree in Librarianship preferred with 1–3 years of public library experience; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
• Pre-employment drug screen and a satisfactory background check are required.

Responsibilities

• Plan and conduct reference services throughout the library system.
• Provide professional assistance to library patrons with reference needs and resources.
• Train staff and patrons in the use of reference and electronic resources.
