Job summary

The Washington County Free Library in Maryland is seeking a collaborative, service-oriented Information Services professional to support the Head of Information Services and oversee department operations at the Fletcher Branch. The role includes reader’s advisory, tech assistance, and coordinating adult programming.

The position requires a Master’s in Library and Information Science, supervisory experience, a valid driver’s license, and flexibility to travel between branches.

Qualifications

• Master’s Degree in Library and Information Science from an ALA-accredited program with supervisory experience.
• Valid driver’s license and ability to travel to multiple branches as needed.
• Experience at an Information Services Desk in a public library preferred.

Responsibilities

• Assist Head of Information Services and oversee department operations in the Head’s absence.
• Coordinate Tech Help appointments and reader’s advisory for adults.
• Coordinate departmental displays and ensure materials are findable in the ILS.
• Plan and implement adult programming and track departmental statistics.
• Provide excellent customer service in person, by phone, and via email.
