Job summary

Baltimore County Public Library in Maryland is seeking a Library Services Assistant to proactively assist customers with diverse library needs, provide information and materials advisory, and support shelving, reserves and outreach activities.

You will help users navigate databases and public computers, process materials, and assist with programs at our branches, including occasional evening shifts.

Qualifications

• Minimum of one year of customer service experience.
• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Ability to use computers and software to assist customers.
• Eligible to act as passport application agent if assigned to passport services.

Responsibilities

• Assist customers with library services and locate items.
• Provide basic information, materials advisory and assistance with reserves.
• Assist with shelving, merchandising and processing library materials.
• Support programs, outreach events and branch operations as needed.
• Help customers use public computers and access digital resources.
