Crawford & Company is seeking a Senior Claims Examiner - Liability to join our claims management team. The role requires handling complex liability claims with high autonomy and collaboration with defense counsel on litigated matters.

You’ll analyze coverage and liability, manage reserves, and support trainees while partnering with clients and carriers. Licensing is required, and the position emphasizes growth within a global leader.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience required.
• 4-8 years experience in technical claims investigations/settling in Claims or similar organization.
• Ability to work independently while assimilating various technical subjects.
• Strong written and oral communication, negotiation and presentation skills.
• Advanced analytical and problem solving skills with ability to manage multiple projects.
• Excellent interpersonal skills to interact with internal and external clients.
• Industry designations preferred: IIA, AIC, AEI, CPCU.
• Licensing requirements per state or jurisdiction.

Responsibilities

• Interprets and decides using independent judgment on complex and unusual policy coverages and determines applicability.
• Manages investigative activity on complex claims and directs discovery and litigation strategy with counsel.
• Establishes reserves using independent judgment and authorizes payments within authority; settles claims cost-effectively and ensures timely disbursements.
• Settles claims promptly and issues company drafts within authority limits.
• Develops subrogation and third-party recovery potential and follows reclaim procedures.
• Analyzes claims activities and prepares reports for clients, carriers and management; participates in claim reviews.
