Job summary

Escape Velocity Entertainment is seeking a talented Character Designer to join our fully remote team and shape characters that sit at the heart of our gameplay experience. You will collaborate with animators, gameplay programmers, and designers to prototype and implement combat features, iterate from concept to release, and refine design using player feedback.

Qualifications

• Experience as a Character Designer on multiple titles (≥2 years) with shipped titles.
• Passion for third-person combat mechanics and diverse titles.
• Proven ability to create thematic characters with balanced strengths/weaknesses.

Responsibilities

• Design characters and oversee gameplay hooks within the project.
• Develop and oversee player combat mechanics, weapons, and abilities.
• Collaborate with animators, programmers, and other teams to prototype and implement features.
• Take character designs through full development cycle from concept to release.
• Use analytics and player feedback to refine design.
