Job summary

Premier Global Law Firm in New York City seeks a Senior Legal Pricing Analyst to join a 10-12 person pricing team on a hybrid schedule (2 days onsite, 3 days remote). You will shape pricing strategy, structure AFAs, and lead global RFP responses across practices.

You will translate complex legal data into actionable insights using AI to streamline pricing; base salary $135-150K plus bonus and an 8% 401K match.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Finance, Accounting, Economics or related field.
• 5+ years of relevant work experience in a law firm or professional services environment.
• Significant experience in legal pricing or financial analysis required.
• Strong financial modeling skills; RFP experience preferred.
• Experience leading process improvement initiatives and using AI to automate tasks preferred.
• Advanced Excel skills; proficiency in Power BI and Aderant preferred.

Responsibilities

• Partner with attorneys to understand the legal work being priced, and develop pricing strategies and analytical models that evaluate pricing scenarios and recommend optimal fee structures to ensure profitability.
• Structure special fee arrangements and AFAs, drafting fee proposals and engagement letters, advising partners on strategy, and helping present proposals to clients.
• Lead responses to global, multi-disciplinary RFPs that span multiple practices, coordinating input from multiple departments
• Prepare cost estimates for prospective and existing matters across litigation, regulatory, and transactional work
• Analyze historical matter data on utilization, realization, and profitability, and track market trends and competitor pricing to recommend adjustments to pricing models
• Monitor engagement performance against budgets, review investment and realization reports, and present findings and key performance metrics to partners, senior management, and clients
• Maintain AFA databases with a focus on data accuracy, and serve as a resource on analytical methodologies, accounting processes, and AFA compliance with client billing agreements

Partnering directly with partners and practice group leaders, you will shape pricing strategy, structure special fee arrangements and Alternative Fee Agreements (AFAs), and lead global RFP responses that span multiple practices. You will turn complex financial data into actionable insights and use AI and technology to streamline how the pricing function works. The role offers a starting base salary of $135-150K plus a discretionary bonus and an 8% 401K match!
