Job summary

Capital One is seeking an experienced corporate attorney to lead the legal strategy for the Global Payment Network across LACC. You will partner with business and legal teams to drive growth, structure complex commercial transactions, and support product initiatives in fintech and payments.

The role requires JD, bar membership, and 6+ years of related experience; bilingual English/Spanish preferred. This is a hybrid position with in-office expectations in select U.S. locations.

Qualifications

• Juris Doctor from an accredited law school.
• Active member in good standing of at least one state bar.
• At least 6 years of experience as an attorney in various settings.

Responsibilities

• Provide expert counsel and strategic guidance across commercial contracting and risk.
• Negotiate, draft, and guide implementation of commercial agreements with internal teams.
• Support credit, fintech and payment-innovation initiatives and product development in LACC.
• Develop and maintain contracts and network ecosystem in growth regions; improve templates.
• Collaborate with internal counsel and business teams; coordinate with Risk and Compliance.
