Job summary

Capital One in Chicago seeks an experienced corporate attorney to lead the Legal Department's deal/product strategy for the Global Payment Network across Latin America, the Caribbean, and Canada. You will partner with business and legal teams to drive growth, negotiate complex commercial agreements, and support fintech initiatives in a high-growth, cross-border environment.

The role requires a JD, bar admission, 6+ years in relevant settings, and bilingual English/Spanish is preferred.

Qualifications

• Juris Doctor from an accredited law school
• Active member in good standing of at least one state bar
• At least 6 years of attorney experience across law firm, government, military or in-house counsel

Responsibilities

• Provide expert counsel on commercial initiatives and transactions for the Discover Global Payment Network across LACC
• Negotiate, draft, and guide implementation of commercial agreements
• Support credit, fintech and payment innovation related product initiatives
• Develop and maintain products, rules, contracts and network ecosystem for high growth regions
• Collaborate with internal counsel and business teams; coordinate with Risk and Compliance
