Job summary

OpenAI is seeking a Senior Legal Discovery Program Manager to shape and scale discovery capabilities across litigation, regulatory matters and investigations. You will lead programs, manage vendor relationships, and drive information governance in a fast-paced tech environment.

Based in San Francisco or New York, this role offers a hybrid model with 3 office days per week and relocation assistance for new hires.

Qualifications

• 10+ years of experience in discovery, litigation support, or related fields.
• Experience leading projects in a fast-paced tech company and launching programs.
• Deep understanding of the discovery lifecycle from preservation to production.
• Knowledge of enterprise data systems and information governance.
• Experience managing discovery vendors and outside counsel.
• Strong program management and analytical skills.
• Excellent communication and influencing without direct authority.
• Interest in applying AI to legal work.

Responsibilities

• Build and advance OpenAI’s discovery program with scalable operations and governance.
• Partner with Legal, Engineering, IT, Security, Privacy and others.
• Drive AI-enabled discovery initiatives from use cases to adoption.
• Provide guidance on complex discovery matters with case teams and external counsel.
• Track outcomes and communicate priorities and risks to leadership.
