Job summary

Hitachi Energy USA Inc invites a Senior Legal Counsel to support its North American operations. You will provide pragmatic legal guidance across business, commercial, risk, and compliance matters, and manage complex agreements while coordinating with outside counsel.

Ideal candidates have ABA-accredited JD, NC or state bar admission, 8+ years of relevant experience, and proven ability to influence stakeholders in a cross-functional, multicultural environment.

Qualifications

• J.D. from an ABA-accredited law school and admission to NC or another state bar.
• At least 8 years of experience in roles related to business, litigation, risk, or compliance.
• Strong judgement, business understanding, and ability to influence stakeholders in a matrix environment.

Responsibilities

• Provide legal advice across a broad range of matters and manage disputes as needed.
• Draft, review, and negotiate complex commercial agreements and contracts.
• Participate in risk reviews and support risk management activities.
• Identify emerging legal issues and develop practical strategies to support business priorities.
