Job summary

Leadenhall Search & Selection partners with a leading international consulting firm to appoint a Senior Legal Counsel to join its growing in-house team in Boston. You will provide strategic and practical legal advice across a broad range of commercial matters, balancing business needs with risk.

The role focuses on drafting, reviewing and negotiating complex contracts, supporting risk management initiatives including AI considerations, and collaborating with Finance, HR, IT and InfoSec.

Qualifications

• JD qualified, with at least 5 years of relevant legal experience; 6–8 years preferred.
• Proven experience independently drafting, reviewing and negotiating complex commercial agreements.
• Strong commercial judgment and pragmatic legal solutions.

Responsibilities

We’re partnering with a leading international consulting firm to appoint a Senior Legal Counsel to join its growing team.

This is an exciting opportunity for an experienced legal professional to take on a broad, commercially focused in-house role, providing strategic and practical legal advice across a diverse range of business matters.

The Role

• Draft, review and negotiate a wide range of commercial agreements, including client contracts, vendor agreements, master services agreements, statements of work, confidentiality agreements and data licensing agreements.
• Provide practical legal guidance to internal stakeholders, balancing commercial objectives with legal and business risk.
• Support firm-wide risk management initiatives, including emerging areas such as artificial intelligence.
• Partner with cross-functional teams across Finance, HR, IT and Information Security.
• Manage external legal counsel and contribute to process improvements that enhance efficiency and mitigate risk.

About You

• JD qualified, with at least 5 years of relevant legal experience; 6–8 years preferred.
• Proven experience independently drafting, reviewing and negotiating complex commercial agreements.
• Strong commercial judgment, analytical skills and the ability to deliver pragmatic legal solutions.
• Excellent communication skills and the ability to build relationships across a collaborative, fast-paced environment.
• A proactive mindset, strong attention to detail and a genuine interest in tackling new and evolving legal challenges.

Experience combining law firm and in-house work is preferred. Exposure to litigation support, AI vendors, pharmaceutical research or data privacy would be advantageous.
