Job summary

Leadenhall Search & Selection is seeking a commercially minded lawyer to join its legal team in Los Angeles. The role focuses on commercial contracts, vendor agreements and technology transactions, with opportunity to assist on broader corporate and general commercial matters.

The ideal candidate will have 5–8 years' experience, strong drafting and negotiation skills, and a background in investment management, financial services, fintech, or banking, ideally in-house or at a leading law firm.

Qualifications

• Qualified lawyer with approximately 5–8 years of relevant experience.
• Experience drafting, reviewing and negotiating commercial contracts and vendor agreements.
• Experience advising on technology transactions and complex commercial arrangements.
• Background in-house within investment management, financial services, fintech, banking or a related regulated sector, or relevant experience at a leading international law firm.
• Familiarity with regulatory and compliance considerations within financial services would be advantageous.
• Exposure to broader corporate and general commercial matters would be beneficial.
• Strong communication, negotiation and stakeholder-management skills.
• A pragmatic, commercially minded approach, with the ability to manage competing priorities and work effectively in a fast-paced environment.

Responsibilities

• Draft, review and negotiate a broad range of commercial agreements, including vendor contracts and third-party supplier arrangements.
• Advise on technology transactions and agreements relating to technology products, platforms and services.
• Provide commercially focused legal advice to internal stakeholders across the business.
• Support the business in identifying, assessing and managing contractual and legal risks.
• Work collaboratively with legal, compliance, procurement and other relevant teams on commercial and regulatory matters.
• Advise on wider corporate and general commercial matters as required.
• Support the negotiation and management of complex commercial relationships.
• Contribute to the development and improvement of contractual processes, templates and legal workflows.
