Job summary

Jackson Walker LLP is seeking a Billing Specialist to coordinate client billing with accuracy and compliance. The role supports attorneys, accounting leadership, and internal departments across Dallas, Austin, or Houston offices.

The ideal candidate will have 7+ years of legal billing experience, strong knowledge of e-billing, and proficiency with Aderant and PrebillManager. This is a full-time position requiring strong organizational skills.

Qualifications

• 7+ years of legal billing experience required, law firm experience preferred.
• Proficiency with legal accounting and e-billing systems; Aderant experience highly preferred.
• Strong knowledge of e-billing; solid organizational and analytical skills.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Excel, Outlook, Word).
• Ability to manage multiple tasks under time constraints and work independently or in a team.

Responsibilities

• Open and maintain client and matter records, including billing formats, rates, and contact details.
• Review engagement letters to ensure billing compliance and configure systems accordingly.
• Set up and manage special billing arrangements, rates, and disbursements.
• Apply trust/retainer funds at time of billing as needed.
• Submit e-bills, rates, budgets, appeals into various e-bill sites as needed.
• Generate, distribute, and track pre-bills for attorney review and approval.
• Edit and finalize bills per attorney instruction while ensuring policy adherence.
