Job summary

Ledgent is seeking an experienced Legal Billing Specialist in Washington, DC to manage the full billing cycle for assigned attorneys and clients. The role covers pre-bill generation, editing, final invoices, and payment follow-up, including complex e-billing workflows.

You will collaborate with legal teams, clients, and collections staff to address outstanding invoices, implement billing rules, rates, and discounts, and ensure accurate electronic billing configurations.

Qualifications

• 5+ years of legal billing experience in full-cycle billing and e-billing.
• Experience with Aderant Expert accounting software; Pre-bill Manager and Expert Image preferred.
• Ability to independently manage a portfolio of attorneys, clients, and complex billing arrangements.
• Advanced Microsoft Office and Excel skills; solid understanding of accounting principles.

Responsibilities

• Manage full legal billing lifecycle from pre-bill to final invoice.
• Administer billing arrangements, rates, discounts, and e-billing compliance.
• Submit and monitor invoices across e-billing platforms; resolve rejections.
• Maintain billing data in Aderant (rates, approvals, codes, configurations).
• Collaborate with attorneys, clients and collections staff on outstanding invoices and reports.
