Thomson Reuters is seeking a Senior Legal Engineer to design and deploy AI-powered workflows for legal practice. You will work with clients and cross-functional teams to translate real-world needs into impactful legal AI solutions.

The role is hybrid with locations including Frisco, TX, Toronto, ON, Minneapolis–Saint Paul, MN, or New York, NY, with travel to client sites as needed. Strong legal and AI experience required.

Qualificações

• JD or LLB degree required or strongly preferred.
• 5+ years total professional experience, incl. 2 years in legal practice or legal tech product role.
• Fluency in legal terminology and experience with legal teams.
• Comfort with AI tools and AI-assisted development environments.
• Strong knowledge of AI and LLM evaluation methodologies.
• Advanced prompt engineering for legal-domain use cases.
• Experience evaluating AI outputs for legal accuracy, relevance, reliability, and safety.
• Excellent written and verbal communication with lawyers and engineers.
• Ability to work independently and in client workshops or knowledge-sharing sessions.
• Strong client-facing skills and ability to build trust with legal leadership.
• Collaborative, growth-oriented mindset and ethical AI, privacy, and confidentiality.

Responsabilidades

• Design, prototype, test, and deploy AI-powered legal solutions.
• Lead discovery sessions, pilots, onboarding, and enablement programs with clients.
• Build AI workflows and automations using Python.
• Evaluate AI/LLM outputs for legal accuracy, relevance, reliability, and usability.
• Develop prompting strategies for legal-domain tasks.
• Create evaluation frameworks with benchmark datasets and rubrics.
• Train legal teams on AI tool adoption and best practices.
• Share expertise via documentation and playbooks.
• Collaborate with engineering, product, legal, and design to prioritize work and improve customer experience.
