BitGo seeks a Senior Software Engineer to help build ledger systems behind client balances, trading positions, and financial reporting. You will design double-entry ledger primitives and ensure financial correctness from day one.

Based in NYC, this full-time onsite role invites collaboration across engineering and finance to model legal entity ownership, ledger placement, and reconciliation paths while scaling for new products like margin, lending, and tokenized assets.

Qualifications

• Double-entry bookkeeping and chart-of-accounts design.
• 5+ years of backend software engineering focusing on data-model design for correctness.
• Extensible system design and growth-ready schemas/APIs.
• Strong cross-functional communication.
• Experience in crypto/blockchain infrastructure is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Design and extend the core ledger: accounts, postings, and ledger structures.
• Own the chart-of-accounts and reporting surface connecting data to financial statements.
• Balance verification, reconciliation, and proof-of-reserve style mechanisms.
• Collaborate with engineering teams early in design to model ownership, placement, pricing, and reconciliation.
• Design data models to absorb new financial products with minimal migrations.
