Job summary

BitGo seeks a Senior Software Engineer to design and evolve the ledger systems behind client balances, trading positions, and financial reporting at our NYC office. You will blend software engineering with accounting to ensure financial correctness from day one.

You will own data models and reporting surfaces, align on-chain data with off-chain books, and collaborate with Finance, Data Engineering, and Product teams. Crypto experience is a plus and on-site collaboration is required.

Qualifications

• Strong knowledge of double-entry bookkeeping and financial statements.
• 5+ years of backend software engineering experience.
• Ability to model financial data with scalable APIs.
• Experience collaborating with Finance, Data Engineering, and Product.
• Crypto or blockchain infrastructure experience is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Design and extend the core ledger (accounts, postings).
• Own the chart-of-accounts and reporting surface for financial statements.
• Coordinate across on-chain data and off-chain books: balance verification and reconciliation.
• Collaborate early with engineering on feature design to reflect ownership and pricing.
• Design data models for new financial products with scalable migrations.
