Job summary

BitGo in Palo Alto is seeking a Senior Software Engineer to build the ledger systems behind client balances, trading positions, and financial reporting. You will design double-entry ledger primitives and ensure financial correctness from day one, not as an afterthought.

You’ll work across Finance, Data Engineering, and Product to model ownership, reconciliation, and the integration of new financial products, emphasizing scalable, extensible data models and audit-ready design.

Qualifications

• Real, working knowledge of accounting fundamentals: double-entry bookkeeping, chart-of-accounts, financial statements, reconciliation and audit requirements.
• 5+ years of backend software engineering experience with data-model design where correctness is the product.
• Strong instincts for extensible system design and APIs that scale with new requirements.
• Comfort reading and critiquing technical designs across multiple systems and teams.

Responsibilities

• Design and extend the core ledger — accounts, postings, and ledger structures.
• Own the chart-of-accounts and reporting surface linking engineering data to financial statements.
• Coordinate across on-chain data and off-chain books for balance verification and reconciliation.
• Collaborate with Finance, Data Engineering, and Product to model ownership and reconciliation paths.
• Design data models that absorb new financial products with minimal migrations.
