Job summary

The Chief of Lease Management & Procurement leads the Lease Management and Procurement unit within the Maryland Department of General Services Office of Real Estate. This hands-on managerial role oversees procurement of new and renewal leases for commercial, intergovernmental, office, storage, and parking needs.

It manages a statewide portfolio of 335 leases totaling 6.1 million square feet at an annual cost of approximately $134 million, supervising a team and guiding strategic planning,

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in finance, real estate, business management or related field.
• Five years of experience in acquisition, negotiation and management of leased space.
• At least two years of supervisory experience.
• Knowledge of commercial lease acquisition process and contract negotiation.
• Working knowledge of State Procurement Law related to leased space acquisition.
• Demonstrated ability to communicate and work collaboratively with diverse stakeholders.
