Job summary

Qualifications

• Strong analytical and organizational skills with ability to manage multiple competing projects.

This Deputy Chief of Special Projects position at the Maryland Department of General Services serves as the primary backup to the Chief of Maintenance Engineering and manages design, inspection, and repair of building systems and utilities across state-owned properties. The role oversees program open space, hazardous materials, underground tank, and capital maintenance budgets while supervising staff responsible for project management, environmental compliance, and facilities assessment. The position is located at the Baltimore State Office Complex and is responsible for prioritizing maintenance projects, establishing policies, and coordinating with DGS and other agency leadership.
