Job summary

StevenDouglas is seeking an Operations Accounting Manager in Austin, TX to lead property accounting for a large portfolio across 35 buildings. You will oversee a team of about 7 accountants and drive process improvements, reporting to senior leadership.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field.
• CPA preferred.
• 3–5+ years of progressive accounting experience, including leadership or supervisory experience.
• Strong knowledge of U.S. GAAP and financial reporting.
• Experience with month-end/quarter-end close, reconciliations, accruals, budgeting, forecasting, and analysis.
• Experience with ERP/financial reporting systems.
• Commercial real estate, property or lease accounting experience.

Responsibilities

• Lead monthly, quarterly, and annual close processes and ensure timely financial reporting.
• Oversee property accounting, including journal entries, accruals, reconciliations, variance analysis, straight-line rent, and lease accounting.
• Manage CAM budgets, true-ups, and annual reconciliations using Yardi Advanced Recoveries.
• Partner with Finance and FP&A on budgets/forecasts and support financial reporting.
• Analyze financial results and communicate key drivers and recommendations to management.
• Lead, mentor, and develop a team of ~7 accounting professionals.
• Collaborate with Finance, FP&A, Tax, Legal, Operations, and senior leadership.
• Evaluate and improve accounting processes, systems, and controls for efficiency and scalability.
• Lead automation and other process improvement initiatives.
• Establish and maintain accounting policies and procedures.

StevenDouglas is engaged on a search for an Operations Accounting Manager to lead property accounting for a portfolio of approximately 5 million square feet across 35 office buildings. This role will oversee a team of approximately 7 accounting professionals and report to the Senior Director, Operations Accounting.

This is an excellent opportunity for an accounting leader who enjoys developing teams, improving processes, and partnering with senior leadership to drive operational excellence. This role operates on a 4/1 hybrid schedule and offices in downtown Austin.

Key Responsibilities

• Lead monthly, quarterly, and annual close processes, ensuring accurate and timely financial reporting.
• Oversee property accounting, including journal entries, accruals, reconciliations, variance analysis, straight-line rent, and lease accounting.
• Manage CAM budgets, true-ups, and annual reconciliations using Yardi Advanced Recoveries.
• Partner with Finance and FP&A on budgets and forecasts and support Financial Reporting with quarterly and annual reporting.

Qualifications
