Job summary

University of Phoenix is hiring a Sr Learning Experience Designer (Virtual) to independently lead design and production for complex learning experiences. You will collaborate with subject-matter experts and a project team to translate needs into effective, scalable learning solutions.

The role emphasizes AI-enabled production workflows, quality assurance, and mentoring peers without direct supervisory responsibility.

Qualifications

Bachelor's degree in adult education, instructional design, learning experience design, communications, or related field; six+ years in learning design or development.
Master's degree in related fields is preferred.
Advanced knowledge of adult learning, instructional design, accessibility, and virtual/blended learning practices.
Demonstrated capability using generative AI and agentic production workflows.

Responsibilities

Lead complex learning-design workstreams for high-impact initiatives with consultants and stakeholders.
Exercise advanced instructional judgment and advise on design, feasibility, and learner experience tradeoffs.
Design, develop, and maintain facilitator guides, job aids, e-learning modules, and assessments.
Lead complex quality reviews for accuracy, accessibility, usability, and readiness.
Own appropriately scoped complex projects when no consultant is assigned.
