The Sr. Learning & Development Leader-Trainer is responsible for delivering, executing, and managing all training-related needs of the Client. This role requires understanding and communicating disease states, marketplace, and product-specific materials, along with effective facilitation and communication skills. As a partner to sales, marketing, market access, and medical affairs, you should be a strategic thinker and highly skilled in account selling in complex customer environments.

The Sr. Learning & Development Leader-Trainer will identify training needs, refine and deliver women's health/anti-infectives training, and contribute to developing new product and engagement skills training. Collaboration with the client's marketing brand team, sales leadership, and the Syneos Health Learning Solutions team is essential to support development of all field-facing roles.

Job Responsibilities (may include but are not limited to):

  • Develop, create, and deliver training on business acumen, product knowledge, and selling skills for all products in collaboration with brand teams.
  • Align training strategies with business goals through ongoing needs analysis and insights.
  • Maintain communication with Oncology Account Managers and sales leadership for coaching and follow-up.
  • Coordinate with the brand team and sales leadership on agendas and workshops for POA and National Sales Meetings.
  • Evaluate field team proficiency, identify opportunities, and address execution gaps.
  • Partner with Field Leadership to assess needs and develop tactics for competency enhancement.
  • Support sales teams with training initiatives for meetings, coaching, and other interventions.

Design Responsibilities

  • Conduct training needs analyses regularly.
  • Create and maintain a Training Plan aligned with client goals.
  • Work with Field Sales Leadership to determine metrics for evaluating training success.
  • Utilize business software (e.g., MS Office, PPT, Excel) effectively for organizing and analyzing information.

Development Responsibilities

  • Develop and implement a comprehensive oncology training curriculum supporting core competencies.
  • Oversee content development for all training formats, collaborating with content vendors.
  • Engage with the Field Sales Team and client representatives throughout content development to ensure strategic alignment.
  • Manage logistical aspects of live training, including scheduling and facilities.

Delivery Responsibilities

  • Implement learning experiences that enable high-performing sales teams, supporting evolving business needs.
  • Deliver training programs, including new hire onboarding, advanced skills, NSMs, and virtual POA training.
  • Use current healthcare and oncology market knowledge to inform training content.
  • Facilitate live or virtual training sessions effectively, ensuring learners meet objectives.
  • Evaluate participant competency and provide feedback.
  • Distribute post-training evaluations and reinforcement tools to sustain behavioral change.
  • Provide facilitator training and support as needed.

Ideal Candidate Attributes:

  • Bachelor's degree required; advanced degrees preferred.
  • At least 3 years of pharmaceutical, biotech, or specialty sales experience.
  • Minimum 2 years of pharma sales training experience.
  • Expertise in women’s health or anti-infectives marketplace.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office; Instructional Design certification is a plus.
  • Willingness to travel for training and field coaching.
  • Familiarity with Tableau, Veeva, and Concur is preferred.
  • Self-motivated, collaborative, and action-oriented work ethic.

The annual base salary ranges from $145K to $150K, depending on qualifications and skills. Additional compensation may include performance-based bonuses or commissions.
