Job summary

BrainPOP is seeking a Senior Learning Designer to drive learning design work from brief to launch within content initiatives. You will translate strategy into design decisions, model craft for the team, and upskill other designers in assessment quality and AI-assisted workflows.

Based in NY, NY with hybrid US remote options; occasional travel may be required. The role emphasizes collaboration with PMs, editorial, product, and cross-functional partners to deliver high-quality K–8 digital learning

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree required; Master’s preferred in Education, Instructional Design, or Curriculum & Instruction.
• Seven+ years designing K–8 curriculum and learning experiences for edtech; knowledge of learning research and classroom application.

Responsibilities

• Own the learning design work within assigned content initiatives—from brief to launch in partnership with the PM and Senior Director of Learning Design.
• Translate strategic direction into design frameworks, item blueprints, and content specs for the team.
• Maintain quality and coherence across a collection or initiative, ensuring grade-band differentiation and instructional alignment.
• Write and review formative assessment items.
• Set distractor logic standards and address quality gaps.
• Provide feedback and upskill others; build guidelines, rubrics, and short workshops.
• Partner on AI content pipelines, including prompt design and evaluation rubrics.
• Represent learning design in product discovery and development within assigned initiative squads.
• Flag scope, quality, or resourcing risks to ensure on-time delivery.
