UTMB Health in Galveston, TX seeks a Senior Specialist, Learning and Career Counseling to plan, implement and evaluate medical and health profession programs in collaboration with Academic Enterprise.

Responsibilities include hands-on learning skills training, workshops, USMLE/Step prep, career guidance, residency applications, and peer tutoring. You will maintain student databases and develop board exam strategies.

Qualificações

• Doctoral or Master’s degree in a related field with experience in academic counseling in higher education.
• Experience in planning, delivering and evaluating student learning programs and advising students.
• Knowledge of medical education processes and counseling strategies for diverse learners.

Responsabilidades

• Provide hands-on learning skills training including test-taking, study, reading and critical thinking.
• Develop and deliver proactive workshops addressing personal, academic and clinical experiences.
• Maintain databases tracking students and program issues.
• Assist with planning USMLE/Step I/II prep, peer mentoring, course prep and residency prep.
• Assess learning issues and assist remediation; provide career guidance to medical students.
• Assist residency applications, CV and personal statement reviews; support peer tutoring.
• Contribute to board/licensure exam preparation strategies and program development.
• Adhere to internal controls and reporting structures; perform related duties.
