Job summary

Western Union is seeking a Senior Learning & Development Leader to drive enterprise learning and development initiatives across multiple US locations in a hybrid setup. The role partners with HR and business leaders to shape strategies, assess needs, and design impactful programs that build leadership capability and organizational performance.

The ideal candidate brings 10+ years in L&D and leadership development, plus strong consulting and stakeholder management.

Qualifications

  • 10+ years of expertise in Learning & Development and leadership development.
  • 10+ years designing and facilitating leadership and professional development programs.
  • 10+ years translating business needs into scalable learning solutions.
  • Strong consulting, communication, and stakeholder management skills.
  • Willingness to travel up to 20%.

Responsibilities

  • Serve as a strategic thought partner to HR and business leaders on learning and talent development priorities.
  • Define and execute the enterprise Learning & Development strategy and annual learning plan.
  • Conduct needs assessments and capability gap analyses to identify development solutions.
  • Consult with business leaders to design and implement learning interventions aligned with priorities.
  • Establish and maintain standards for instructional design, facilitation, and program quality.
  • Design, develop, and facilitate leadership and professional development programs.
  • Mentor and coach Learning & Development team members and guide program design and delivery.
  • Research learning trends, technologies, and best practices to drive innovation.
  • Champion AI and emerging technologies to enhance learning experiences.
  • Manage relationships with external learning vendors and partners.
  • Evaluate program effectiveness and recommend enhancements based on results.
  • Partner with Talent Management on succession planning, talent reviews, leadership assessment, and career development.

Senior Learning & Development Leader – Atlanta, GA, Miami, FL, or Denver, CO (Hybrid)
Role Responsibilities

The Senior Manager, Learning & Development is a strategic individual contributor responsible for driving enterprise learning and talent development initiatives that strengthen organizational capability, enhance leadership effectiveness, and support business objectives.

This role partners closely with business leaders and HR to identify development needs, design impactful learning solutions, and advance the organization's learning strategy through innovative programs and best practices.

  • Serve as a strategic thought partner to HR and business leaders on learning and talent development priorities.
  • Help define and execute the enterprise Learning & Development strategy and annual learning plan.

Role Requirements
Basic Qualifications
  • 10+ years of expertise in Learning & Development, leadership development, and adult learning principles.
  • 10+ years of experience designing and facilitating leadership and professional development programs.
  • 10+ years of demonstrated ability to assess business needs and translate them into scalable learning solutions.
  • 10+ years of strong consulting, communication, and stakeholder management skills.
  • Ability to influence and build relationships at all levels of the organization.
  • Experience managing multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.
  • Travel up to 20%.
  • *Applicants must be currently authorized to work in the United States on a full-time basis. Western Union will not sponsor applicants for work visas for this position.
  • *Applicants must be based in Atlanta, Miami, or Denver or willing to relocate to Atlanta, Miami, or Denver to work from the Atlanta, Miami, or Denver office a minimum of three days a week. Western Union will not assist with relocation costs for this position.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Experience leveraging AI and digital learning technologies to improve learning effectiveness and organizational capability.
  • Experience managing external learning vendors, partnerships, and learning-related budgets.
  • Strong business acumen with the ability to align learning strategies to organizational goals and priorities.
  • Experience in Talent Management, including succession planning, talent reviews, performance management, leadership assessment, or career development.

Salary

The base salary range is $125,000 - 150,000 USD per year.

Total on-target compensation includes a base salary and short-term and long-term incentives that align with individual and company performance.

Actual salaries will vary based on candidates’ qualifications, skills, and competencies.
