Job summary

Indium Corporation in Utica, NY is seeking a Senior Continuous Improvement Engineer to lead Lean, Six Sigma, and operations improvements across manufacturing and business ops. You will drive cross-functional projects, quantify savings, and sustain results through standard work and metrics.

The role partners with operational leaders to deliver safety, quality, delivery, productivity, and cost improvements, with a strong emphasis on DMAIC, DOE, and data-driven decision making.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in industrial, mechanical, manufacturing engineering, engineering technology, operations management, or related field preferred; Associate degree required.
• 6 years of experience in manufacturing, industrial engineering, process improvement, continuous improvement, or similar field.
• Lean Six Sigma Green Belt certification required; Black Belt preferred.
• Minimum 2 completed DMAIC or CI projects demonstrating leadership and measurable results.
• Strong knowledge of Lean, Six Sigma, and continuous improvement methodologies.

Responsibilities

• Lead Lean, Six Sigma, and Operational Excellence projects from opportunity to sustainment.
• Develop a pipeline of improvement initiatives aligned with cost reduction targets.
• Identify cost savings through waste elimination, process optimization, and productivity gains.
• Facilitate Kaizen events, value stream mapping, and cross-functional problem solving.
• Collaborate with Manufacturing, Engineering, Quality, and Supply Chain to hit objectives.
• Establish controls, metrics, and standard work; mentor CI engineers; coach staff in CI methods.
