Job summary

Indium Corporation is seeking a Manufacturing Systems Engineer in Utica, NY. The role focuses on designing, implementing, and sustaining control systems that embed quality into production, and partnering with Quality, IT, engineering, and operations to deploy automated systems.

Responsibilities include integrating legacy equipment with sensors and MES/ERP data, developing Health of Line metrics, and driving CI initiatives to reduce risk and defects on the shop floor.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in engineering is required.
• Minimum 1 year of manufacturing experience.
• Familiarity with DMAIC concepts, SPC, MES, and Lean Manufacturing Principles.
• Drafting/design software skills are a plus.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills; cross-functional collaboration.
• Ability to travel and provide own transportation for local travel.

Responsibilities

• Design and implement manufacturing and engineering control systems for inline quality monitoring.
• Integrate legacy equipment with sensors, vision systems, data acquisition, and ERP data for real-time visibility.
• Develop Health of Line metrics and report to stakeholders using sensor, PLC, and ERP data.
• Lead CI projects to automate processes and reduce risk.
• Collaborate with IT/Digital Manufacturing to implement MES, SPC, data collection, and analytics.
