Job summary

Howard County Medical Center, part of Johns Hopkins Medicine, seeks a Senior Innovation and Continuous Improvement Coach to drive Lean thinking and create a culture of operational excellence across the hospital.

Under the Executive Director Strategy and Performance Excellence, you will lead continuous process improvements, guide Lean Daily Management/Strategy Deployment, and mentor cross-functional teams while fostering a welcoming and inclusive workplace.

Qualifications

• 3 years minimum experience in a full-time Lean/6-Sigma role in a hospital or other healthcare setting, or 1 year Lean/6-Sigma in healthcare + 5 years Lean/6-Sigma in a non-healthcare environment.
• Green Belt certification required.
• Black Belt certification required, or must be attained within 1 year of hire.
• Master’s degree required; may be substituted with 5 years Lean/6-Sigma in healthcare.
• Experience leading and driving project results and working in Lean Daily Management/Strategy Deployment.

Responsibilities

• Assist the Executive Director Strategy and Performance Excellence with driving continuous process improvement across Howard County Medical Center.
• Apply Lean Thinking to create a culture of operational excellence.
• Lead, mentor and collaborate with teams to implement improvements.
• Teach workshops for all roles in the organization (up to 20 attendees).
• Develop and implement Lean Daily Management System and/or Strategy Deployment.
