Job summary

Dover Food Retail (DFR) in Richmond, VA, part of the Dover Corporation, seeks a Senior Continuous Improvement Engineer to drive Lean transformation across operations and support functions. The role emphasizes process design, Kaizen events, and cross-functional collaboration with the plant team.

You will design and optimize manufacturing processes, implement SQDIP metrics, and build KPI dashboards to demonstrate ROI and sustain improvements across sites.

Qualifications

• 4-year degree in Industrial or Manufacturing Engineering.
• 3–7 years Continuous Improvement experience.
• 2+ years Project Management experience.
• Knowledge of Lean / Six Sigma principles.
• CAD proficiency with SolidWorks and AutoCAD.
• Experience coaching TPS/Lean fundamentals (5S, Kaizen, VSM).
• Cross-functional experience across Operations/ Supply Chain/ Product Development.
• Excellent communication and collaboration skills.

Responsibilities

• Deploy SQDIP visual management boards and standard routines across all levels.
• Champion the 0Dover OPEX Model and lean principles.
• Conduct OPEX audits and develop certification plans.
• Lead Kaizen and rapid improvement events with cross-functional teams.
• Analyze production processes and provide management with ROI-focused reports.
• Develop SW tools for production planning, takt, PFMEAs and Control Plans.
• Review labor/material costs and optimize workflow for one-piece-flow/JIT.
• Build and maintain KPI dashboards (Power BI) to prioritize projects.
