Job summary

Brown University seeks a Leadership Giving Officer to develop and execute plans that raise awareness and philanthropic support for Brown’s initiatives. The LGO will manage 200–225 prospects with gifts ranging from $50,000 to $250,000+ and target $500,000–$1,000,000 in annual gifts.

The role requires collaboration with advancement colleagues, staff on visits, and timely recording of activities in the donor database. Based in Providence with hybrid work expectations.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree or equivalent combination of education and experience required.
• Minimum of 4 years of professional experience in fundraising or related field.
• Minimum of 2 years of direct development experience and gift closure exposure.
• Brown development experience and knowledge strongly preferred.

Responsibilities

• Manage a portfolio of 200–225 prospects and raise $500k–$1M annually.
• Qualify and cultivate donors toward annual, leadership or major gifts; close planned gifts.
• Collaborate with colleagues and staff on development programs and visits.
• Document activities, proposals, and plans in the donor database and CRM.
• Travel frequently; occasional evenings/weekends may be required.
