Job summary

Semtech is seeking a Product Definition Engineer to lead the spec definition for next-generation high-speed IC products. You will interface with customers and partners to distill system requirements into IC-level specifications, collaborating with analog, digital, mechanical engineering and product management to refine designs based on data and simulations.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering, Physics, Optical Engineering, or other relevant field.
• 8+ years of hands-on experience in high-speed analog/mixed-signal design and validation.
• Deep expertise in signal integrity, optical link budgets, and IC-level performance targets.
• Experience engaging with optical component vendors in design and ecosystem partnerships.

Responsibilities

• Define requirements and performance targets for next-generation high-speed IC products.
• Interface with customers and component partners to translate system needs into IC specs.
• Collaborate with analog, digital, mechanical engineering and product management to analyze tradeoffs and feasibility.
• Lead industry standards involvement and represent Semtech at conferences and customer events.
