Citi is seeking a Senior Lead Software Engineer for Securities Finance in Jersey City, NJ. You will architect and deliver mission-critical financial services software, owning delivery from design to production.

Lead a team of engineers and analysts, shaping technical direction and ensuring regulatory compliance across global operations. The role emphasizes expertise in Core Java, Spring, microservices, Docker/Kubernetes, and data governance, with strong stakeholder engagement and Agile delivery.

Qualifications

• 10+ years of software engineering experience with leadership in financial services.
• Expertise in Core Java, Java EE, Spring, Spring Boot, Hibernate, and RESTful API development.
• Experience with microservices using Docker, Kubernetes, and containerisation at scale.
• Proficient in Oracle and MSSQL with complex SQL queries for high-volume apps.
• Experience with Kafka, MQ Series, and GitHub workflows.
• Strong data governance, data modelling, and regulatory compliance knowledge.
• Experience in Agile/Scrum environments and cross-functional delivery.
• Familiarity with AI coding assistants to accelerate engineering output.

Responsibilities

• Architect and deliver end-to-end software solutions for securities finance applications.
• Design scalable, resilient services and integrate complex upstream/downstream systems.
• Translate financial processes into technical specs and robust implementations.
• Define and enforce engineering standards across the team.
• Lead, mentor, and allocate work to engineers and analysts.
• Collaborate with stakeholders to capture requirements and build architectural designs.
• Identify and manage technical and regulatory risk with data governance in mind.
• Embed AI coding tools and Agile practices to accelerate delivery.
