Job summary

Citi in Jersey City seeks an Applications Development Senior Group Manager to lead multiple engineering teams in delivering complex, regulated financial applications. You will set the vision, align resources with business goals, and partner with technology and lines of business to drive delivery and quality.

The role requires deep technical leadership across microservices, data pipelines, cloud-native architectures, and governance, with a focus on performance, security, and regulatory compliance.

Qualifications

• 15+ years of relevant experience
• 8-10+ years of managerial experience
• PMP Certification, MBA, Specific to business Licenses and other
• Experience with financial products
• Working knowledge of the industry and competitors’ products and services
• Advanced knowledge of strategic direction of the function within relevant part of the business
• Proficient computer skills with a focus on Microsoft Office applications
• Demonstrated leadership, management, and development skills
• Technical Skills: Domain Technologies/ Concepts, Languages Python, Java, Angular, Reactor equivalent, AI/ML Agentic AI, LLMs, RAG, GenAI platforms, Data Engineering, ETL/ELT pipelines, Microservices, event-driven architecture, cloud-native, REST APIs, DevOps CI/CD, Docker/Kubernetes, observability, Analytics Real-time reporting, automated dashboards, BI tooling
• Education: Bachelor’s degree, Master’s degree preferred

Responsibilities

• Manage and develop multiple teams of professionals to accomplish goals and conduct personnel duties
• Prepare and present regular team/project reviews to senior management and business leaders
• Drive the design and development of system architecture, work with end-users of the systems, and enhance the quality of deliverables
• Monitor and manage budgeting, planning, policy formation, and contribute to future strategy
• Ensure change controls and approvals including regulatory reporting requirements
• Research and resolve issues, provide recommendations, and elevate to senior management as needed
• Lead disaster recovery plans and testing, and ensure operational readiness
• Lead and participate in staff forums, communicating updates to engage the organization
• Define and implement best practices and processes for the department, ensuring transparency across teams
• Assess risk in business decisions, uphold Citi’s standards, and escalate control issues when needed
