Job summary

JPMorgan Chase & Co. in Jersey City seeks a Senior Lead Software Engineer - Java, Blockchain to lead design and delivery of scalable, secure software solutions.

You will work with a Global Technology team, leveraging AWS and Ethereum-based blockchain initiatives, driving AI-assisted engineering practices, and mentoring engineers to ensure high-quality production code and resilient architectures.

Qualifications

• 5+ years of hands-on Java or Python in scalable enterprise systems.
• Experience with cloud services, security, and CI/CD.
• Blockchain development with Ethereum preferred.

Responsibilities

• Participates in, design and develop scalable and resilient systems using Java or Python to contribute to continual, iterative improvements for product teams
• Executes software solutions, design, development, and technical troubleshooting
• Creates secure and high-quality production code and maintains algorithms that run synchronously with appropriate systems
• Produces or contributes to architecture and design artifacts for applications while ensuring design constraints are met by software code development
• Gathers, analyzes, synthesizes, and develops visualizations and reporting from large, diverse data sets in service of continuous improvement of software applications and systems
• Identifies hidden problems and patterns in data and uses these insights to drive improvements to coding hygiene and system architecture
• Contributes to software engineering communities of practice and events that explore new and emerging technologies
• Designs and implements blockchain-based solutions, including smart contracts and decentralized applications on public chains such as Ethereum
• Utilizes AWS cloud services to architect, deploy, and manage scalable applications
• Drives team adoption of enterprise-authorized AI-assisted engineering practices within the work environment to improve code quality, delivery speed, and operational outcomes (e.g., AI-assisted code review/refactoring, test strategy acceleration, incident/root-cause analysis support), while establishing consistent validation standards (secure coding, peer review, automated testing) and promoting reuse of effective patterns across the team.
• Applies knowledge of tools within the Software Development Life Cycle toolchain, including enterprise-authorized AI-assisted development and automation capabilities, to improve the value realized by automation.
