Job summary

JPMorgan Chase & Co. in Jersey City is seeking a Sr. Lead Software Engineer to join the Commercial & Investment Bank Payments Technology, Core Blockchain Team. You will help design, build, and deliver trusted blockchain-powered software in a secure, scalable way.

You will design microservices, implement blockchain solutions, review code, and drive AI-assisted engineering practices, with emphasis on security and performance across cloud environments.

Qualifications

• Formal training or certification on software engineering concepts and 5+ years applied experience
• A degree in Computer Science / Mathematics or equivalent
• Hands‑on experience delivering design, development, testing, and operational stability for distributed systems
• Practical experience developing on blockchain platforms such as Ethereum or Hyperledger
• Strong OO programming background with Solidity/Java/JavaScript/Python
• Experience with cryptographic principles and cloud services (AWS, Google Cloud, Azure)
• Ability to work independently with minimal supervision and lead AI-assisted tooling initiatives
• Experience with responsible AI use and secure coding practices

Responsibilities

• Designs and implements microservices architectures with standard frameworks.
• Designs blockchain solutions and decentralized apps with cryptographic protocols.
• Drives product design decisions and technical operations.
• Monitors microservice performance for high availability and responsiveness.
• Troubleshoots issues and ensures application stability with timely solutions.
• Conducts code reviews and mentors peers to improve quality.
• Contributes to SDLC tooling and enterprise AI-assisted development practices.
• Implements monitoring and testing practices to meet security and performance goals.
• Designs and verifies cryptographic protocols deployed on blockchain networks.
• Drives adoption of AI-assisted engineering and validates AI outputs for correctness.
• Applies SDLC toolchain knowledge to improve automation value.
