Job summary

Capital One seeks an experienced iOS Engineer to design and deliver high-quality mobile experiences in a collaborative, cross-functional environment. You will work with Product, UX/UI, QA and backend teams to implement scalable features and maintainable code.

You will mentor junior engineers, participate in Agile ceremonies, and stay ahead of mobile development trends with Swift, Kotlin, and AI-assisted tooling, while championing customer experience and security.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's Degree required.
• 6+ years in software engineering; internship experience not counted.
• 4+ years building iOS applications.
• 3+ years Swift experience.
• Master's Degree preferred.
• 7+ years iOS experience preferred.
• 4+ years Swift preferred.
• 4+ years open source frameworks preferred.
• 2+ years Agile practices preferred.
• 1+ years people management preferred.
• Experience with interactive AI tooling beyond basic code completion.

Responsibilities

• Develop iOS client code solutions aligned with product strategy and engineering best practices.
• Partner with Software Engineers, UX/UI, Quality Engineers, Product Owners/Analysts to deliver high-performing customer experiences.
• Participate in Agile ceremonies and ensure team commitments are delivered on time and with high quality.
• Advocate for the mobile platform through internal and external developer communities.
• Continuously learn mobile development technologies including Swift, Kotlin, and third-party libraries.
• Influence group discussions and incorporate broader team feedback.
• Mentor junior to mid-level team members.
• Collaborate with developers across Android, iOS, APIs, Web, and other disciplines.
• Own and lead delivery of major components and platform needs with senior engineers and Architects.
• Share best practices and improve processes across sprint teams.
• Identify technical obstacles and develop creative solutions with the team.
• Review pull requests and ensure adherence to Swift and other language idioms.
• Provide subject-matter-expert leadership for technical development of a mobile development team.
