Job summary

JPMorganChase in Jersey City is seeking a Lead Software Engineer within the Markets technology team to design, develop, and implement cutting-edge distributed multi-asset Order Management System infrastructure. You will collaborate with colleagues to build core OMS components, including workflow engines, pipelines, and administration modules.

You will drive secure production code, performance, and reliability while supporting modern deployment approaches and day-to-day operations.

Qualifications

• Formal training or certification on software engineering concepts and 5+ years applied experience.
• Hands-on practical experience delivering system design, application development, testing, and operational stability.
• Advanced in one or more programming language(s) - Java, C/C++, Scala.
• In-depth, expert level understanding of network communication protocols (TCP, multicast).
• Advanced lock-free data structures and algorithms and understanding of Linux internals.
• Expert in multi-threaded programming and object oriented design.
• Hands on experience with time series databases (KDB+).
• Proficient in low-latency design and frameworks, advanced knowledge of graphs, cloud design.
• Experience developing large scale high-availability distributed systems with dynamic quality of service and linear scaling.
• Ability to collaborate with high-performing teams and individuals throughout the firm to accomplish common goals.
• Experience in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Mathematics, or a related technical field.

Responsibilities

• Executes creative software solutions, design, development, and technical troubleshooting with ability to think beyond routine or conventional approaches to build solutions or break down technical problems.
• Develops secure high-quality production code, and reviews and debugs code written by others.
• Identifies opportunities to eliminate or automate remediation of recurring issues to improve overall operational stability of software applications and systems.
• Leads evaluation sessions with external vendors, startups, and internal teams to drive outcomes-oriented probing of architectural designs, technical credentials, and applicability for use within existing systems and information architecture.
• Leads communities of practice across Software Engineering to drive awareness and use of new and leading-edge technologies.
• Adds to team culture of diversity, opportunity, inclusion, and respect.
