Job summary

JPMorgan Chase & Co. in Jersey City seeks a Lead Software Engineer to join the Markets technology team within the Commercial & Investment Bank. You will design, develop, and deliver trusted, high-performance market data and trading systems as a core technical contributor.

You will work with analysts and developers to tackle complex distributed multi-asset order management and real-time services, focusing on low-latency, high-availability architectures and scalable deployment practices.

Qualifications

Formal training or certification on software engineering concepts and 5+ years applied experience.
Hands-on practical experience delivering system design, application development, testing, and operational stability.
Advanced in one or more programming languages - Java, C/C++, Scala.
In-depth understanding of network protocols (TCP, multicast).
Advanced knowledge of lock-free data structures, algorithms and Linux internals.
Expert in multi-threaded programming and object oriented design.
Hands-on experience with time series databases (KDB+).
Proficient in low-latency design and frameworks; graphs and cloud design.

Responsibilities

Executes creative software solutions, design, development and troubleshooting beyond routine approaches.
Develops secure high-quality production code and reviews and debugs code written by others.
Identifies opportunities to automate remediation to improve stability of software applications.
Leads evaluation sessions with external vendors, startups and internal teams on architecture.
Leads communities of practice across Software Engineering to promote new technologies.
Adds to team culture of diversity, opportunity, inclusion and respect.
