Job summary

JPMorganChase is seeking a Senior Lead Software Engineer to join the Consumer & Community Banking Connected Commerce Technology team in Plano, TX. You will guide an agile squad, develop secure production code in Java on AWS ECS/EKS with Postgres, and drive AI-assisted engineering practices to boost quality, velocity, and reliability across services.

You will lead engineering efforts, mentor teams, and collaborate across product and operations to ensure scalable, resilient systems.

Qualifications

• Formal training or certification on software engineering concepts and 5+ years applied experience.
• Hands-on practical experience delivering system design, application development, testing, and operational stability.
• Advanced in programming skills in Java.
• Demonstrated experience leading effective use of enterprise AI-assisted software development tools with ability to set team expectations for validating AI outputs.

Responsibilities

• Regularly provides technical guidance to support the business and its technical teams, contractors, and vendors.
• Develops secure and high-quality production code, and reviews and debugs code written by others.
• Drives adoption and governance of AI-assisted engineering practices across teams to improve code quality, delivery speed, and operational outcomes.
• Applies knowledge of SDLC tools and AI-assisted development to improve automation at scale.
• Drives decisions that influence product design, application functionality, and technical operations.
• Acts as a function-wide subject matter expert in areas of focus.
• Contributes to engineering community promoting firmwide frameworks and practices of the SDLC.
• Codes in Java, AWS ECS, EKS, and Postgres.
• Develops secure production code and reviews others' code.
• Drives decisions influencing product design and operations.
• Utilizes AI agents to improve quality and delivery timelines.
