JNE Homes LLC is seeking a Senior Lead Residential Remodeler and Finish Carpenter in Kalamazoo, MI. You will lead complex residential remodeling tasks, manage your workflow, and contribute to high-end finished homes with autonomy and pride in craftsmanship.

The role focuses on flooring, finish carpentry, framing, and coordination with the broader field team, ensuring quality and timely project delivery. Minimum 5 years in residential construction; state license is a bonus.

Qualifications

• Minimum of 5 years of experience in residential construction and remodeling.
• Advanced flooring installation skills with precise measurement and estimation.
• Proven finish carpentry mastery including doors, cabinetry, and countertops.
• Ability to read architectural plans and execute framing independently.
• Strong communication, punctuality and safety awareness.

Responsibilities

• Flooring Installation: Install LVP, carpet, and linoleum with precise transitions.
• Finish Carpentry: Install interior/exterior doors, cabinetry, and countertops as required.
• Framing Execution: Perform interior wall framing, window openings, and subfloor work from plans.
• Exterior Structural Repairs: Complete deck and railing repairs for safety and aesthetics.
• Mechanical System Maintenance: Basic plumbing and HVAC maintenance for residences.
• Fixture Coordination: Install hardware and fixtures to deliver a finished look.
• Cross Functional Collaboration: Assist drywall and painting to maintain momentum.

Key Responsibilities

• Flooring Installation: Execute professional flooring installations including LVP, carpet, and linoleum with precise transitions and trim.
• Finish Carpentry: Install high quality interior and exterior doors, cabinetry, and custom countertops to meet remodeling specifications.
• Framing Execution: Perform framing projects for interior walls, window openings, and subfloor replacements using accurate material lists.
• Exterior Structural Repairs: Perform critical deck and railing repairs to ensure structural integrity and aesthetic consistency.
• Mechanical System Maintenance: Maintain residential utility systems through professional plumbing repairs and basic HVAC maintenance tasks.
• Fixture Coordination: Coordinate the installation of hardware and fixtures to provide the final professional touch on finished homes.
• Cross Functional Collaboration: Collaborate with the broader field team by assisting with drywall and painting to maintain project momentum.

What You Need to Succeed (Qualifications)

Required

• Industry Tenure: Minimum of 5 years of experience in residential construction and remodeling.
• Flooring Proficiency: Advanced proficiency in flooring installation, including accurate measurement and material estimation.
• Finish Carpentry Mastery: Proven expertise in finish carpentry, door hanging, and cabinetry installation.
• Blueprint Literacy: Demonstrated ability to read architectural plans and execute framing projects independently.
• Professional Attributes: Strong communication skills and a consistent record of punctuality and safety awareness.

Preferred

• Education: High School Diploma or GED.
• Licensing: Valid State Builders License.
• Utility Piping Knowledge: Advanced knowledge of PEX, PVC, and copper piping repair.
