• Plan tasks in sequence and identify preparation needed before installation.
• Check work for accuracy, appearance, and quality throughout the project.
• Coordinate with the project manager and coworkers, explaining tasks to helpers when needed.
• Identify site challenges and communicate practical solutions or questions promptly.
• Maintain a clean, safe work area and treat clients and their homes respectfully.

Lead Carpenter - Residential Remodeling

Pay: $27 - $32 per hour

We're a Northwest Ohio remodeling company founded by a retired Army logistics officer. Our work includes kitchens, bathrooms, basements, and custom home renovations, with an emphasis on thoughtful design and quality craftsmanship.

We're seeking a skilled Lead Carpenter who can handle detailed carpentry and complete assigned work independently while collaborating with our project manager and field team. Formal crew-management experience is not required. You can succeed here as an experienced craftsperson who understands the work, plans the right sequence, and can explain a task clearly when working with a helper. You'll need sound remodeling judgment, pride in your work, and a willingness to keep learning.

Key Responsibilities

• Complete hands-on carpentry for kitchen, bathroom, basement, and other residential remodeling projects.
• Install kitchen cabinets with careful preparation, alignment, and fastening.
• Install doors, door trim, baseboards, and crown molding.
• Complete detailed finish carpentry and custom features, such as fireplace mantels, within your skill set.
• Plan assigned tasks in a logical sequence and identify preparation needed before installation.
• Check your work for accuracy, appearance, and quality throughout the project.
• Coordinate with the project manager and coworkers, explaining tasks to helpers when needed.
• Identify site challenges and communicate practical solutions or questions promptly.

Required Qualifications

• Demonstrated residential remodeling and detailed carpentry experience.
• Ability to complete cabinet, trim, and finish installations with care and accuracy.

• Reliable transportation to assigned project sites and dependable attendance.
• Strong problem-solving skills, honest communication, and openness to constructive feedback.
• Ability to perform the hands-on physical tasks involved in carpentry and remodeling.

Preferred Qualifications

• Custom woodworking or fireplace mantel experience.
• Siding, soffit, or roof-repair experience.
• Familiarity with basic plumbing and electrical work.
• Experience explaining tasks or supporting less experienced coworkers.

Pay and Benefits

• Employment: Full-time, in person.
• Pay: $27 - $32 per hour
• Schedule: Monday to Friday - 9 am to 5 pm with occasional overtime.
• Paid Holidays
• PTO up to 3 weeks per year plus one Friday off per quarter as a mental health day.
• Work requires reliable attendance at local project sites.
