Job summary

JPMorgan Chase in Plano, TX seeks a Senior Lead Software Engineer - Performance / Systems Engineer to design and drive performance strategies for scalable, secure software solutions. You will run performance tests, optimize cloud deployments, and implement automated deployments in a fast-paced Agile environment.

The role focuses on real-time monitoring, REST API design, and cross-team collaboration to ensure high-quality, resilient systems across the organization.

Qualifications

• Formal training or certification in software engineering concepts with 5+ years of applied experience.
• 2+ years of experience leading technologists to manage and solve complex technical items.
• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field.
• Experience with performance testing/monitoring tools (JMeter, BlazeMeter, Grafana, Prometheus, Dynatrace).
• Experience with AWS, Kubernetes, OpenShift, and shell scripting.
• Designing REST APIs per Open API Standards; cloud technologies and microservices.
• Experience with CI/CD tools such as Jenkins and Travis; knowledge of accessibility and security compliance.
• Strong collaboration and agile practices.

Responsibilities

• Design, develop, and execute performance test plans to ensure scalable, reliable applications.
• Collaborate with development and operations to optimize performance and real-time monitoring.
• Manage containerized apps using Kubernetes/OpenShift in cloud environments and automate testing tasks.
• Design and implement REST APIs with Open API Standards; leverage microservices for performance.
• Implement deployment automation and CI/CD pipelines with Jenkins and Travis; ensure security/compliance.
• Manage authentication/authorization across systems and implement automated tests for quality.
• Apply Agile methodologies to drive performance projects and continuous improvements.
• Contribute to communities of practice and explore new technologies.
