Job summary

CGS Federal (Contact Government Services) is seeking a Senior Lead Network Engineer to join a team dedicated to evaluating, enhancing, and maintaining a large-scale wired and wireless network project for government clients in the Washington DC area.

You will define testing procedures, implement network solutions, manage documentation, and collaborate with stakeholders and vendors while applying security best practices and disaster recovery considerations.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s Degree in Engineering, Computer Science, Business, Information systems or related discipline.
• Strong documentation skills including updating JIRA Tickets, Wiki Pages and Network Diagrams.
• CWNA Certification or equivalent.
• BCNE Certification or equivalent.
• Experience with RF site survey tools such as Ekahau, RF Scanners, and Wireshark.
• Knowledge of layer 2 switching and layer 3 routing protocols (VLANs, 802.1w, OSPF, VRRP).
• Knowledge of 802.1x, MAC Authentication, ACLs, RADIUS, CA.
• Linux/Windows/VMware experience.
• Master’s Degree in related discipline.
• 3+ years in disaster recovery planning/testing or projects.
• Experience with penetration testing and vulnerability assessment.
• Agile/SCUM project management knowledge.
• Additional industry certifications/licenses.

Responsibilities

• Operate and manage NPS network infrastructure.
• Improve infrastructure monitoring and reporting via network management software.
• Develop and maintain network documentation for NPS environment.
• Review best practices; advise on architecture, design, and operation.
• Onboard wireless infrastructure via Cloudpath; monitor health; patch security.
• Assess and optimize the NPS network infrastructure.
• Define and run testing procedures for new projects.
• Implement solutions in the NPS network environment.
• Provide design guidance on network solutions.
• Offer training and knowledge transfer to NPS resources.
