Job summary

Sargent & Lundy in Clayton, Missouri is seeking a Senior Mechanical Engineer to lead a team of engineers and designers on complex plant projects. You will guide mechanical design efforts, perform calculations, and review drawings across phases from concept to commissioning.

The role requires ABET-accredited BS in Mechanical Engineering, 7+ years in heavy industrial plant design, and prior leadership experience.

Qualifications

BS in Mechanical Engineering from an ABET-accredited program.
MS in Mechanical Engineering is preferred.
7+ years of experience designing mechanical systems for heavy industrial plants.
Experience leading an engineering design team through all project phases.
Ability to create design schematics and P&IDs using CAD software.
Experience as a firm/client liaison and in reviewing drawings.

Responsibilities

Lead mechanical design efforts for a team of engineers and designers.
Investigate, troubleshoot, and resolve mechanical engineering issues.
Coordinate and mentor engineers; guide project delivery and client interactions.
Develop integrated system designs and perform supporting calculations.
Prepare specifications and engineering studies for mechanical equipment.
Review work and ensure timely design delivery across project phases.
